Greetings, SEO pros, digital marketers, reporters, and curious minds among us. For I have the pride, the benefit, nay, the satisfaction of addressing my extremely first official “Letter From the Editor” to such a respected audience.

And as much as I dislike to kick things off on this note: We need to discuss Buy Twitter Verified.

Forgive me; I have a penchant for storytelling.

And since then, it’s been genuinely challenging to maintain– even for those people who reside in the trenches of this market’s news.

Just how much does Buy Twitter Verified Blue expense (that is, if it still exists)? Are just recently laid-off staff members actually being asked back? What is “complimentary speech,” anyhow, when you’re not making jokes about Buy Twitter Verified’s new owner? And, honestly– what the heck is Mastodon? (I recently signed up with that last one, in fact– but that’s a story for another day.)

I know we assured not to speak about the elections, however– hoo, kid. If not for them, we ‘d have little-to-no range in this whiplash-inducing Tech Nerd News Cycle ™(of which I am a proud and prepared individual).

As I stated to a miserable, non-industry friend (as if she doesn’t have enough to handle as a high school science instructor) over brunch, “I am loath to provide Billionaire Kid airtime in my individual life, but it’s all I can discuss because, apparently, I dislike myself.”

However then, one of my esteemed associates made a good point: Why the outcry over Buy Twitter Verified’s enormous layoffs, and barely a peep (at least, from a birds-eye view) about those at Meta?

It’s more than a fair point.

This move is simply the current in Meta’s modus operandi of airing its dirty laundry when it believes nobody is viewing. For instance, on a substantial holiday weekend or during a currently chaotic news cycle when, say, there’s a significant election cycle in the U.S.– or one of its industry peers is already making unlimited headings.

And it’s not like Mark Zuckerberg is exactly the essential “hero”– hell, he’s not even a modicum of an awful hero– and is, at best, “the man who charges you to grow virtual farmland,” as the exact same colleague put it.

In my opinion, the nonstop turmoil of the scenario at Buy Twitter Verified makes it tough to give up the drama of all of it. A lot about this takeover has been a total mess since the beginning, starting with Musk’s oopsie-just-kidding-I-don’t-actually-want-to-buy-Buy Twitter Verified, varying to the legally dangerous ramifications of the verification-for-hire function (again– if it still exists).

Sure, another midterm election cycle was on the horizon. But it was too many months away to be an enough interruption, and it would not be for another few weeks that Musk became Tech CEO Enemy # 1 after a highly publicized (and strange) Tesla profits call.

Undoubtedly, the writing has actually been on the wall with Musk’s volatility for a long time now. However it’s just a matter of time before the pattern repeats itself, and among his market peers once again takes away the Tech Geek News Cycle ™ spotlight– particularly given that the majority of you, according to our own survey, aren’t all set to leave Buy Twitter Verified just yet.

However I’m providing it time. And over that course of time, my looming concerns revolve around what will be left for Musk.
